Getting paid to blog is an excellent opportunity to show off one’s writing skills

There are many real sites that list the names of various companies who will pay bloggers for content. Once you have identified real companies that are willing to pay you to blog. Take the time to apply with several of them by filling out an application and submitting a writing sample. The process is usually very easy. Once your writing sample is accepted you will need to decide on a topic that might be interesting to others. Then you can begin offering a wealth of valuable information regarding the subject. For example you might be paid to blog about dating.

Your blog discussions could offer information on how to date successfully, things you should never say on a first date, or perhaps for the ladies you could blog about what to wear on a first date. Some are paid to blog only on subjects that designated by the company itself which may require research on your part if it does not happen to be a topic with which you are familiar. This can take a lot of time to do, but keep in mind these are most likely the companies that pay their blogger on the higher end of the scale. Which ever the case may be make sure you know the topic well in order to establish yourself as a credible blogger. You will then begin to build your reputation and obtain a very loyal following from your blog readers.

The general earning is between $100-$600 per month or even more depending on the company. The majority of bloggers receive pay not only through blogging, but by generating income from ads that are placed on the site. Some also become paid consultants to other companies that seek more knowledge on the subject at hand. The pay is usually deposited into your banking account promptly either daily or weekly.

Most writers are paid to blog while working from the comfort of their home. By working from home you are able to pace yourself and blog all throughout the day, or perhaps dedicate a certain time to blog, such as in the early morning hours, in the afternoon, or even in the middle of the night while the family is sleeping. You will then need to make sure to proof read the blog for mistakes and create an interesting title to capture the attention of your audience. Putting these few tips into practice will make you invaluable to the company that is paying.

Blogging gives a writer an excellent opportunity to work in a field that they enjoy, to improve their writing skills, and to become an authority on any subject. So get started today fulfilling your dream of working from home and getting paid to blog.

Many people get paid to blog for a lot of different reasons. If you want to get paid to blog, it’s easier than ever before! Getting paid to blog can be very lucrative and very fun. When writing for blogs it can be a personal review of a product or service, your opinion about a particular subject or other such topics. The particular blog will depend on what the topic is about.

There is a lot to consider when you decide to get paid to blog. What interests or excites you? How much are you willing to write? Do you have enough knowledge to write about that particular subject? How much will the blog pay you for your work? Let’s talk about these questions for a moment.

What interests or excites you? One key to writing successful blogs is to pick a topic that you’re interested in. Let’s face it, nobody wants to do boring work. The more you become interested in your work, or the blog you are writing, the more you will have to say about that particular subject. Quality is always a must when it comes to doing any job, including getting paid to blog.

Many people get paid to blog for a lot of different reasons

How much are you willing to write or how much time are you willing to spend? When writing about a topic that interests you, you may have a lot to say. How long will it take you to get out your full opinion? Remember, quality is always important because you want to do a good job so you always have work. You also may not want to spend a ton of time writing on a particular piece because you could’ve written two more blogs in that same time span. So how do you decide? You choose your work carefully.

Do you have enough knowledge about the particular subject you’re writing about? Knowledge is power. The more you know about a particular subject, the better your writings will be and you could possibly make more money when you get paid to blog! Some topics may require in depth information or knowledge, while others may require little to no knowledge about the topic, depending on what you are writing about. Again, quality comes in along with knowledge.

Getting paid to blog should be fun and easy, not hard and tedious.

How much will you make for your work? It depends on the blog. Remember earlier when we talked about how much time it would take you to write a blog? While some pieces may take a bit longer to prepare, they may pay more than shorter articles. You may want to weigh your options or consider the amount of time you are willing to spend on writing one particular blog. Obviously, you want to be paid well for the time you spend working. Depending on the amount or type of work you do, you can easily earn as little as $100 per month or up to $500 per month in supplemental income. It’s all up to you!

Some key tips to make money to blog is accuracy, attention to detail, knowledge about the topic/subject, consistancy and of course, being professional. You want to make a good name for yourself. Before submitting your work, always proof read it. Check grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ask yourself questions like, “Do I want my name on this piece of work?” or “Did this answer the readers questions about this subject?” or my favorite, “Is this what the requestor was looking for?”. If you can positively say yes to all of those questions then you should be successful and make a good name for yourself. Getting paid to blog should be fun and easy, not hard and tedious.

If you’re making a web page and want to get the maximum performance rate possible, you will want the page to load as quickly as possible in the browser. This can be done without making major changes to the appearance of the over-all function of the page.

You can achieve this by simply reducing the amount of bytes that a client or viewer has to download. You can use something called Page Speed featured by Firefox.

Page Speed is an extension that looks at web pages and gives ideas on how to improve them for greater performance and speed.

There is another tool called YSlow which can also give excellent ideas on how to improve your page so that it loads faster in a browser.

You can find both of these tools on the internet. You can also get the page to load faster in the browser by compressing your images.

Extra information is embedded in files, most of the time including the name of the program who wrote them. Some images such as PNG files can be reduced by simply changing the way the image in encoded. These changes do nothing to change the look of the page, and the compressed image is an identical twin to the uncompressed image without as many bytes.

You will want to compress all images in the page, and when done successfully, it will show the compressed version. If you are using Page Speed, and you are to use the minimized version of an image, go to the panel in Page Speed and simply click the link of the compressed version and save it.

Another way to get the web page to load faster in the browser is to minify JavaScript by getting rid of the comments and white space from larger JavaScript files. This will minimize them while not taking away from the function. If you are using the took Page Speed, they will run the page through a JavaScript minimizer thus making a smaller file and it also gives you the link you need to save that file. To use it, all you need to do is to click the link, save the minimized file and change your HTML to get to the minimized file. It is advised to keep the original file in case you ever want to make changes to it.

Another suggestion to get web pages to load faster in the browser is to remove unused CSS. CSS files are the files that contain rules that apply style attributes to elements in a web page. However if no rules apply to any elements in the page, removing it will simply have a result of fewer bytes being sent to the client. No change in the look of the page will result however.

You must be careful though because external sheets may be included by more than one page and you will only want to remove the rules that no page is using. Page Speed has a tool that can tell you which rules are not being used. Use this on all pages so it is able to tell you which rules are used and which are not.

Make sure to run these tools on each and every page often and to keep an eye on any problems that may arise and fix them promptly. Doing these simple things will greatly increase your loading speed of web pages in a browser.

When it comes to blog advertising, you don’t have to spend extra ordinate amounts of money to get the traffic you want. There are several different ways to advertise your blog, many of which are free. This will show you different ways you can advertise your blog so you’ll have a better grasp of which steps you need to take to work toward greater traffic.

Entrecard: This service allows you to create a virtual business card of sorts to “drop” on other blogs. Cards dropped on blogs will show as advertisements. The more cards you drop, the more advertising on other blogs you will earn. It’s a completely free service and relies on the fact that all bloggers want and need traffic to work. You’ll need to spend some time creating your account, but as long as you set aside some time every day to drop cards and respond to those who have dropped theirs, it will be a very good method of advertising for you.

Blog Comment Campaigns: This is very simple. All you need to do is find a bunch of blogs you can regularly read and comment on. These blogs should be related to your own. If you take the time to read and provide valuable input to other bloggers, you’ll get a link back to your blog on their website, and other people who read it may decide to come visit your blog.

It is important to provide valuable information because of the SPAM comments that are out there from people just trying to get links. If you regularly comment on blogs, you may find that the owners of these blogs will come back and regularly comment on yours.

Blog Carnivals: Blog Carnivals allow you to take a break from your regular posting habits to showcase other posts. You can do this for all of your blogs, and make it a regular blog carnival, with the help of Blog Carnival. If you don’t want to run your own Blog Carnival, you can submit different posts from your blogs to a variety of different carnivals. The carnivals highlight what your post is about and provide a link back to your blog. To be the most successful with this kind of blog advertising, you should both host your own blog carnival and submit posts to others.

Twitter, Facebook and MySpace: These are all forms of social media where you can build followers and friends and connect with both current and potential blog readers. You can advertise your newest blog posts or present readers with news of a contest, all for free. You can get feedback from your readers not publicly posted in the form of a comment, and have fun connecting with your readers outside of the blog so you may find new things to blog about.

Blog Plugins: Depending on the blogging platform you use, you may be able to find plugins that will help you with your blog advertising. There are several different options for WordPress users who use WordPress.org on their own domains.

Blog advertising is very important to the success of your blog, because without readers, you won’t be able to experience all of the benefits associated with blog ownership, including making money. Do you have any other ways you advertise your blog? Share them with the rest of us so we can all share the wealth.

Well, the only con I can think of for this is it is the majority of the junk mail and spam you get daily are from direct marketing.

By now, you probably already know that marketing is a very complex subject. There are all different kinds of marketing you can explore. The marketing we are going to talk about today is direct marketing.
Direct marketing is a type of marketing that sends its message straight to the consumer. This is by telemarketing, emailing, and direct mailing prospective customers. Another way you can do this is by telling your future customer to visit your website or call your toll free number.

These are several ways to get your message from you to your target audience without any intervention. In other words, this is direct marketing.

That’s not the only ways to direct market. There’s also those packets you sometimes get on your home door knob, the flyers left on your windshield at the super market, billboards, the banner ads on websites that you can click on, the buttons and pens and notepads companies encourage you to take one of, and even the samples you can sometimes get from your doctor or the kids’ pediatrician! I bet you didn’t realize you see direct marketing just about everywhere now!

Lot of companies are big fans of this kind of marketing. It has a lot of pros. For instance, you don’t have to pay huge fees to get other advertisers to market for you this way. Therefore you save money, and you still get new customers! According to Ad Age, “In 2005, U.S. agencies generated more revenue from marketing services (which include direct marketing) than from traditional advertising and media.”Now, everything has to have a con, right? Well, the only con I can think of for this is it is the majority of the junk mail and spam you get daily are from direct marketing.

You may be wondering where these companies get the information needed to send out these types of ads. Well, they make up a database of names, addresses, phone numbers, and email address of potential customers. When they want to see who may need their product or service, let’s say dog grooming, they can pull up all the contacts they have obtained from various pet shops and send their ads to them. It’s all about knowing who to send it to.

You wouldn’t send a catalog full of bath soaps and candles to a man whose information you got at a sporting goods store! Instead you may send it to ladies whose information you obtained from a candle shop or a store that specializes in bath soaps. If you do not choose the right target audience you will end up with a bunch of people angry for you sending them a bunch of junk. However, if you pick the right target audience, you will have people just itching to see what your business, service, or product is all about!

Think about what you have learned so far. I bet you can think of at least 3 examples of direct marketing you have seen today. Direct marketing is everywhere! You can’t help but to stumble upon it a few times a day. For instance, today i got an email from Toys-R-Us, a catalog from JCPenny, and I saw a banner ad for an online boutique. If you have gone to work you probably have seen a billboard or a sign on a bus bench. If you have been to the grocery store you may have been offered free samples or coupons. If you have been online you have probably seen ads all over the place. These are all examples of direct marketing! Now think about which ones you were actually interested in.

The ones you want to know more about are the ones that are doing their job right. They have figure out what kind of person to send their ads to. They have figured out who will actually check out what they have to offer. They have figured out a direct marketing method that works for them. Now what works for one company, product, or service may very well not work for another. In fact, unless you are offering something extremely similar, chances are their target audience is not who you are looking for.

Direct marketing is a technique lots of companies, products, and services swear by. A lot of people get very good results from it if they do it right. I’m sure a few have tried it and thought it wasn’t for them, but you can’t expect everyone to like the same marketing style just like you can’t expect everyone to like the same breed of dog or the same flavor ice cream. People are all different. You have to find what works for you and stick to it. If you are ready to start your adventure of direct marketing then I wish you luck. If not, keep looking for your type of marketing.

Due to the economic downturn in the last couple of years, business marketing has started to change to accommodate the way people view business during times of economic stress. Many businesses are limited their traditional marketing processes and turning to online marketing. Online marketing is a popular choice because of the large and varied results for the price. Online marketing is one of the least expensive forms of marketing, which makes it very popular in recessions. SEO in 2009 has become one of the number one ways to market a business or product.

However, because of the popularity of the style of marketing, many search engines have changed the way that they conduct their online searches. As the technology increases, the searching procedure can become more and more specialized making more and more specific requirements for web pages. This means that the old ways of creating SEO content are not going to work as well. SEO in 2009 is quite different than it has been in the past due to the increased number of SEO marketers as well as the new search engine procedures. However, some of the old SEO techniques still work if they are given a new twist.

Keyword articles have always been one of the number one ways to reach the top of any search. Keywords are still very important, but the content used to hold the keywords has to be more informational and useful than ever. Sites that just list random keywords without an article, or articles that make little or no sense will be thrown out of search results lists by the new searching systems. This makes it very important to get well written, informational, and interesting articles to place on each site for the site to continue to reach the top of search results pages.

Another feature that search engines have created recently is the ability to conduct a more specialized search. This is done through the selection of the media content before the “search” button is pressed. Many search engines have a selection for pictures, video, news, articles, and stores that can narrow searches down. To maximize on this for search engine optimization, it is important to have a variety of content on each web page. There are almost any number of sources that can be used for any topic, so finding content should not be hard. However, it is important to be aware that variety of content will help keep a site at the top of the results page.

Videos and photos added to a site increase the “curb appeal” of the site. They also allow people to visit a site when conducting a video or photo search. Many health sites have taken advantage of this kind of advertising by having articles, pictures, and videos all on their sites. However, any site can take advantage of the same marketing techniques. It is also important to have a site with clean graphics and design. A clear navigation system is also important to remain high on search results.

Another new process for SEO in 2009 is the use of social marketing. The use of such tools as forums, Twitter and other RSS feed information, social sites such as My Space and Facebook, and e-mail groups are very important to marketing online. Creating networks of fans and followers will go a long way toward keeping a business popular and well-visited. Without these extra boosts of marketing it is likely that a business’s site will have a much harder time keeping on top of search results. Social marketers can make or break any site.

Another aspect for SEO in 2009 is personalization. Customers and contacts in a recession market need to know that their business contacts keep track of them and enjoy their time. Customer service is a big deal, as well as more personalized care. Part of this marketing style is accomplished through social marketing and networking, while the rest is established through the way customers and visitors are handled when they visit the site or order products. When customers and contacts feel they are treated well and with respect they are more likely to come back to a site and recommend it to a friend. And even though SEO marketing is important right now, nothing beats a word-of-mouth recommendation.

Blogs and Blogging sites are designed to allow others to put out their views and insight on their daily lives and create updated content based on their experiences. What this means for advertisers is free or virtually zero cost advertising when done correctly.

There is much that Professional Blogging can offer in terms of new customers and increased sales of your products or services. This is a highly untapped resource that is generally free and can produce results which are outstandingly high.

Blogs and Blogging sites are designed to allow others to put out their views and insight on their daily lives and create updated content based on their experiences. What this means for advertisers is free or virtually zero cost advertising when done correctly.

Using Blog websites to your advantage is one of the tricky things to figure out on your own. If you are inexperienced in Blog writing, then you may wish to hire a Blogger to write reviews of your products for you. It is important to choose a popular Blog and niche to market your products or services effectively. Otherwise, creating content yourself should be generally simple.

Try to focus on your company more so than the products you offer to allow your consumers to connect to your company’s Blog through emotion, instead of thinking you’re showing them an elaborate advertisement.

Making use of Blogs and Blogging Websites is rather simple when you follow some simple steps. Make sure to make your own decisions when following these steps as deviations may result in increased traffic and customers based on your specific products or services.

For Self Advertisers and Company Owners, there is a basic outline to follow:

The first step towards advertising your own company and products is researching the niche that your product or service falls into on other Blogs. This is crucial to learning techniques that other companies and Bloggers are using towards marketing products and services towards the consumer. Take this research period time to make an outline of your strategy to execute for your future Blogging site.

Strategy is a very large part of your Blog advertising agenda. Taking the time to complete a detailed strategy or work plan will reduce mistakes in your advertising and marketing venture. Make a checklist of all of the things you wish to complete as well as setting a timeframe to work into. Make and set realistic goals, because overnight success through viral marketing is rare with Blog sites. Remember that success in Blogging is proportionate to the amount of real work you put into it.

Determine whether you wish to advertise your products or market your company. This is one of the critical decisions to make when starting a Blog for business purposes. On one hand, advertising your products gives you some direct sales, but over time sales will diminish when the Blogs become “old” news. Blogs are designed to give news updates to those who are interested and subscribed to your Blog posts.

A simple way to keep readers interested in your products is actually marketing your company instead. Keeping readers updated on current events and affairs with your company is much more entertaining than viewing an advertisement. This is a simple way to get new customers through the networking aspect of Blogging websites.

Telling people about the problems you are solving in their lives with your company’s vision and work will really get them interested in your company, many will follow any links you have to your main company website. Business works better this way because you form lasting bonds with your consumers, making them more likely to be returning customers.

Next on successfully routing new customers through your Blog is actually choosing Blog topics that are interesting to both readers who are subscribed and new readers who will subscribe. Your Blogs should focus on a single product or service and what these products or services could do to solve your reader’s problems. Focusing on one product or service per Blog post gives readers variety, and allows you to post a new topic every update.

This lets you spread out your products or services over time and allows for updates on older products for future Blog posts. When focusing on marketing your company, try showing interest in the community and post Blogs about what you are doing for the community.

Playing an empathic role in people’s lives really sells well with your consumers. The idea is to connect well with your customers to make your marketing more effective.

Finally, making sure you have the right keywords and tags for your Blog posts allows for your readers to find you. Learn about all of your competition’s key word usage, learn the popular tags that people use that are associated with the products and services that you offer and incorporate them into your Blog posts. Taking the time to create relevant posts with creative topic headlines and a diverse set of keywords and tags that do not flood the Blog posts is the main purpose of this step.

Simple Suggestions for Commissioned Advertising or Reviewers:

Setting a price is one of the things that both reviewers and the business owners can do. A price that is suitable to charge or pay for the amount of writing that will be done. Being fair with your price is one of the main business practices that should always be followed in this business.

One way to figure out charges for reviewers is by the amount of viewers they have on a daily basis. Reviews done on Blogs with thousands of views daily are going to be much more desirable than those with one hundred at most. This is a scenario where paying more for the review would generally be acceptable because it has many more viewers in the long run.

Another major concern is the ability of the writer to review or market your products. You do not want to be paying premium prices for some reviews or advertising of your products when a writer has less than average writing skills.

Asking for a preliminary review or trial advertisement from a writer to gauge their ability to write a concise and relevant post about your products or services is a great way to weed out bad writers from your pool of options.

This is something that writers should look into as well. The better skilled a writer is at presenting the advertisement or reviews, the more they can charge for their services, while having much more options available towards making money from orders set by companies.

Processing such written orders in a timely manner is also a major driving force in this industry, as these Blog content writers are expected to produce results as soon as possible. If writers are not able to provide such content in a timely manner, this may reduce risks of losing work or having a bad reputation amongst companies that provide such opportunities.

The Advantages of Blog Content Advertising are very evident and have much more power over other types of advertising. Utilizing the power of Blogging allows your company to connect with your consumers. Text based advertising and other form of forced clicked advertising really pushes away potential customers. When marketing with Blogging sites and providing relevant information on your products and services in an efficient manner, you allow for more customers to choose your products because they want to.

Simply encouraging your potential consumers to use your products through several different means will yield higher amounts of true traffic to your websites. This means more sales to people who actually need your products or services to solve their problems.

Advertising reviews are a great way to drive traffic to your blog and add value for your paid advertisers. While writing a review is not difficult, there are a few things you can do to really make your reviews pop.

While a short bullet list highlighting the benefits or features of the product you are reviewing is expected, make sure you include your personal opinion of the product. You do not want your review to read like an advertisement. Also, make sure any personal claims you make are factual. You want your readers to trust you. This will lead to more repeat traffic to your blog as well as result in more hits for your advertising customers, a winning combination for you.

Make your reviews fun to read. This leads back to reader trust. If appropriate for your topic, use a casual tone, as though you are writing to a friend. Unless you are writing a review for a highly specialized niche, you will want to avoid overly technical jargon and specialized language. Readers often become attached to a blog author and return for updates from authors that they respect and like.

Don’t over use hyperlinks in your reviews. While you do want to give your readers ample opportunity to click to the product’s site, over use of links will turn your review into a blatant advertisement. The first link link should be the product name as clickable text. It is also a good idea to make the photo’s in the blog post linked to the advertiser’s web page. Save the full url for the end of the article with the phrase for ‘more information, please visit…’ or ‘this product is available at…’.

Short and sweet will capture your intended audience’s attention without boring them. You never want your readers to get bored and click away from your blog. Short reviews of less than 350 words are enough to get across the needed information without overloading the reader.

Stick to the basic review structure when writing. A review should have a brief introduction, a description of the subject, your view on how well the subject fulfills its purpose, a comparison with other methods or similar products, and a short conclusion reiterating your opinion on the subject.

Even though you are getting paid to write the review, do not always keep them all positive. If you only have good things to say about every item you review, your readers will begin to lose trust in you. No one likes everything about every product all the time. There are two ways to handle this. Write a few negative (but factual!) unpaid reviews for your blog or be completely honest of a few negative features in the items you are being paid to review. To use the second way, you bury the negative inside the positive. An example would be, “though this item is great for doing what it does it only comes in two colors.”

Finally, pay attention to spelling and grammar throughout your review. You may also want to use a few targeted keywords throughout the body of the article to help maximize traffic as well as writing an eye catching headline. Also, make sure you include a picture of the item you are reviewing. By following these few simple tips you will be able to write highly successful reviews.

This field is growing rapidly.

Jason Pence first got involved with paid blogging in the summer of 2007. A fresh graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Corporate Communications, he was having trouble finding work with one of the large, high-paying public relations firms that he had aspired to join since enrolling in college. As the days turned into weeks and the job interviews became more and more sparse, he realized that his hobbyist offroad cycling blog was actually starting to make “real” money. Still determined to get a job with a national public relations firm, he set up another blog in the hopes that he could hold out on his blogs’ earnings will taking the time to secure his dream job.

But as the months dragged on, the only people knocking at Jason’s door were other blog owners — who wanted him to write the kind of content for their sites that was drawing readers to his blogs in the thousands per day. Today, Jason is one of the most highly sought-after paid bloggers on the internet, drawing as much as $100 per blog post on a variety of subjects. We recently chatted with Jason about his approach to paid blogging and his outlook on the future of the field.

Did it take you a while to realize that you could actually support yourself off of paid blogging? Or was that a conclusion that you were reluctant to come to?

It’s funny, I wouldn’t say that I was reluctant to come to that conclusion, but I guess I was reluctant to realize that paid blogging even existed. When I started my first cycling blog, I didn’t know anything about the kind of gears that are churning in the background of the internet that drive traffic to different sites and earn other people revenue. I thought a blog was nothing more than a bunch of boring text about what someone ate for breakfast or whatever. And so when people were asking me to write posts for them in exchange for, say, $5 or $10, I thought these were like fluke offers that I couldn’t count on as “income.”

It’s also a matter of legitimacy, I think. I was living with my parents for nearly nine months. Some of the people I had graduated with were making six-figure salaries. I didn’t really want to tell people that I was blogging for a living. It just didn’t seem like something I could tell my parents when they asked me how the job hunt was going. But now I have no problem doing it. I think the field is considered a lot more legitimate now, especially when you realize that it, a lot of times, falls under the umbrella of what you’d call internet marketing. At the time I thought it was just writing about cycling.

How do you find new work as a paid blogger? Is it difficult?

Not really. I think it’s actually pretty easy to get consistent work as a paid blogger once you’ve established yourself. But that’s the key, establishing yourself. In fact, once you’ve got one or two dedicated clients, you end up having to turn a lot of work down. But it may take a while to get there, which can probably be discouraging.

Do you mind telling us how much money you make each month in paid blogging?

It depends. My income has continued to rise each month, too, as I get to charge more for my work and am offered larger, longer projects. But I’ll tell you that last month I made around $3000 before taking any taxes out.

Do you have any advice for aspiring paid bloggers?

It’s like anything else — you have to establish a name for yourself and then start building your client base. That my involve writing a bunch of articles for dirt cheap at first just to prove that you can write well and concisely. But once you do that, you’ll have more work than time to do it. This field is growing rapidly.

How often do you need to add content to a blog site?

As often as possible. You have to keep the content updated at least weekly. Otherwise, your site will get stale. And on the internet, it doesn’t take long to be stale. Update your content. Update your ads. Update your contacts, or you will lose money, rather than make it.

I am interviewing a blogger today. It is about how to make money in blog advertising. Okay, first question.

What do you write about in a blog?

Well, it depends on your intent. Some people blog about things they are interested in. Others write up reviews of other people’s work. Still others do both. The real trick is finding enough words to keep up fresh content.
I see, you have to keep doing your research.

So how do you make money on these sites?

Well, I personally write things for other people. Some people write content for their own websites that sell everything from dolls to food to old information. What you have to do is write clearly so other people can find your site with search engines. You have to engage and entertain your audience. Then there are keywords, you have to use the correct keywords to catch the search engines.

And the only way to move up is to get as many clicks on your site as you can. It helps to have hyperlinks to other sites with Similar content. And more importantly, that other sites have hyperlinks to your site. The more traffic you have, the higher probability you sell what ever your product is.

So what kind of products are available?

The sky is the limit. One of the simplest products is advertising space. You let other people put ads on your site for money or services. It just takes you keeping your content fresh so that your site traffic stays high. Some of my favorites are web comics. They have new content on a regular basis, and always have advertisements for their own products.

Could be books, backgrounds, plush toys or even individual strips. On top of those, they let other people put up banners or ads for different sites and products. There are people making enough money to not have any other job.

Even just drawing a cartoon once every few days. Another way is to set up a fan site for some television show, then advertise for related products. You get enough hits on the site by having fans around the world join. And you get continuous updated material from the fans as well. It is a solid advertising approach and adds constant traffic to your site.

How often do you need to add content to a blog site?

As often as possible. You have to keep the content updated at least weekly. Otherwise, your site will get stale. And on the internet, it doesn’t take long to be stale. Update your content. Update your ads. Update your contacts, or you will lose money, rather than make it.

What other advice can you give us on making money on your site?

Do not be afraid to put out something that some people might not like. You are writing a blog. A little controversy can be a good thing. Just make sure that what you say is accurate. And if you write something that blasts someone else, be sure to not step on libel laws.

But if you know something is true and might generate some serious reactions, go for it. Be a little edgy, it keeps people looking at your site for new content. So, as long as you keep your site current, keep adding content and you have a real chance to make money from blogging.
